Nina Gaby talked to Kasini House about her process (2006): "When I went back to working with clay, I didn’t go back to working in high-fired, translucent porcelain that was always done with celadons and very subtle things. I wanted things to be more garish and exciting. I have been working with acrylic paints and low-fire glazes. Everything is color and flatter texture, not the kind of richness that I used to find via the depth of a glaze over white porcelain, but instead a flat, flat bunches of color just as they are. Which is fun. At this point in my life, art has to be fun."
